An apprentice builder with training in architectural design, carpentry, and stained-glass, I am interested in creating timeless spaces that preserve and enhance both natural and cultural heritage.
what is an eccentric builder?
eccentric
adjective
(1) deviating from conventional or accepted usage or conduct especially in odd or whimsical ways
(2) deviating from a circular path
Much like a planet on an eccentric orbit, I come in and out of contact with the 'conventional' during different parts of my journey. I believe in life-long learning, and acquire knowledge through both embodied experience and more conventional modes (books, lectures, etc).
(for example, learning about residential design and town planning by delivering mail for Canada Post).
I am a builder because I enjoy making and creating. Both physical spaces and objects, as well as abstract spaces and communities.
about me
Born and raised in Montreal, my first design love was the
Montreal metro. High-school brought about an interest in graphic design and photography, but I ended up studying architecture, completing my undergrad in 2012. After university, an interest in ecological and alternative building lead me to rural communities in Nova Scotia,
Vermont and Ontario. Since 2014, I have made my home in
Lanark County in Eastern Ontario, where I am thrilled to be part of a vibrant community of artists, builders, and farmers.
- B.Sc.(Arch), 2012 (McGill University)
- Heritage Carpentry & Joinery, diploma, 2016 (Algonquin College)

The skill and craftsmanship of the people I encounter never ceases to amaze, nor does their desire to share with, and learn from, others. I am always eager to hear from interesting folk.
